Diversity, Equity, Inclusion

SF’s commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) has garnered recognition through collaborative efforts with corporates and institutions. Through the Creative Connections program, partnerships have been established with influential entities aiming to foster sensitivity towards individuals with diverse needs and promote an inclusive culture. This details the offerings under the Creative Connections program by Snehadhara Foundation. Our sessions are meticulously crafted to address the dynamic needs of the corporate landscape. SF is poised to be a transformative partner for corporations seeking to enhance their organizational culture and social impact.

Our Work in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

In collaboration with Volvo Trucks India, Snehadhara Foundation conducted a series of three transformative training sessions under the banner of “Navigating Diversity: A Comprehensive Approach to Gender Sensitivity.” These sessions were designed to deepen the conversation around diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within the organization. Engaging leaders, managers, and women employees over three workshops, the trainings sought to move beyond awareness to actionable strategies that create more inclusive workplaces.

There was an emphasis on challenging unconscious biases, fostering inclusive leadership, and equipping participants with tools to champion diversity within their teams. Each session was tailored to its specific audience, ensuring that the key themes resonated and translated into meaningful impact.

Session 1- Leaders

Session 2- Retail Frontline Management

Snehadhara Foundation’s collaboration with Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) and Miyamoto International was focussed on holistic inclusion of Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) in disaster-resilient infrastructure. This partnership aimed at co-developing a framework that integrates the principles of GEDSI into disaster-resilient infrastructure, bringing together global expertise with a deep understanding of social inclusion.

Established in 2019, CDRI is a multistakeholder and a unique coalition aiming to promote the resilience of new and existing infrastructure systems against natural hazards. Drawing from SF’s body of work, which has focused on using arts practices for inclusion, we brought in a unique perspective that centers on ensuring that infrastructure development serves the needs of marginalized populations, including women, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups.

This engagement was done through consultation meetings, research, a three-day workshop with CDRI leadership, and co-developing of a GEDSI Framework.

Dr. Gitanjali G Govindrajan, our Founder and Executive Director, led three impactful workshops at USAID, focusing on fostering Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility. With over 40 participants from USAID, these sessions were part of a comprehensive series aimed at cultivating an inclusive workplace culture over the year.
Along with discussions on inclusive hiring practices, the sessions progressed into the nuanced topic of unconscious biases and their impact on workplaces. It was inspiring to witness participants sharing their own experiences of discrimination, making the sessions deeply engaging and thought-provoking.
Each participant left with a tangible inclusive practice to implement in their daily lives, highlighting the practical aspect of the training. Additionally, conversations revolved around establishing baseline indicators to gauge and enhance workplace inclusivity.
